Huntsville Gardens or the Huntsville Botanical Garden is one place in Huntsville Alabama that is sure to meet the fancy of lovers and the whole family. Your Huntsville Gardens is located near the world-famous US Space Rocket Center. This is a place designed for the whole family, and another reason why this garden is a popular destination is the fact that the Gardens are openĀ  year round and comes for free!

Here are some of the things to expect by the family at these Gardens – lots of seasonal butterflies, ferns, herbs, perennials, roses and other wildflower gardens. Kids can allow follow the trail or the nature path, plus every one will be delighted to see the many flowering dogwood trees that are truly picture-perfect.

Other than these perennials and flowers, there are also some specific locations in the Gardens that are worth visiting and checking out. First one is the Central Corridor. This is called as the perennial garden and the aquatic garden. There is also the Daylily Garden known for its 675 varieties of daylilies.

For those who love their flowers, the perfect destination within the Huntsville Gardens is the Dogwood Trail. The trail plays host to the many flowering dogwood trees and here visitors can also see the hundred year old dogwood that was transplanted to the site. This can be seen along the forest path.

The Fern Glade is another exciting place to visit inside the Gardens, and as the name implies this is the place where visitors can check out different types of ferns. To be exact, around 170 species of ferns can be seen here including the Christmas fern, the Northern Maidenhair fern, the Southern Maidenhair fern, the Sensitive fern and the Cinnamon fern.

Also of great interest to many visitors and tourists are the herb garden and the nature trail. The herb garden offers a great view of the 14 themed gardens and the nature trail on the other hand offers paths going to a portion of the forest within the Gardens.

Huntsville Gardens is just the perfect place for those looking for some respite from the daily city-life struggles.
